How will my disks be organized?
You decide how your scans will be named and organized when on disk. Some people organize their photos by year and others have their collection organized by person, place, or occasion.

When preparing your photos, slides, or negatives for a scanning order we recommend you sort them into groups. Each group will have it's own folder on your completed disks, and each scan will be named according to the name of the group it originates from.

Example: Suppose you have two groups of slides; one from 1976, and one from 1977. After scanning your completed disks would contain two folders; one labeled "1976" and one folder labeled "1977". The scans inside these folders would be named accordingly. The 1976 slides would each be named 1976IMG001.jpg, 1976IMG002.jpg, 1976IMG003.jpg and so on. The slides from the 1977 group would be stored inside the 1977 folder and would be named 1977IMG001.jpg, 1977IMG002.jpg, 1977IMG003.jpg and so on.

How many groups can I have?
You can have as many or as few groups as you see fit for your order. We ask that you have an average of at least 20 photos, slides, or negatives per group.

How do I label my groups?
We need to know which photos belong to which group. If you're having prints scanned you may want to place all the photos from a given group into an envelope and then write the group name on the envelope. If you have slides you may want to rubber band each group together and then insert a post it note under the rubber band to identify the group. If you need assistance with grouping and labeling your images feel free to contact us or call 800-383-2903.

What if I need the images from each group scanned in order?
If you wish to have the images in each group scanned in a specific order please be sure to let us know. You'll also want to indicate the order the images are to be scanned in. If you have prints that you want scanned in a specific order please place them in order and label the back of each image with a 1, 2, 3, 4 etc. If you have slides that should be scanned in order please place them in the order they are to be scanned in and label each slide with the number in which it should appear - 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. You may wish to write the number on the corner of each slide mount with a pencil or pen.
