Scanning Options Explained: ROC Color Correction

What is ROC Color Correction? ROC color correction restores color to faded images. The example below has a red appearance. Meaning that the blue and yellow pigments in the film have faded while the reds have been better preserved. This is typical with older slides and negatives. Fortunately ROC color correction helps to repair the scanned image. ROC color correction is included with our Silver and Gold scanning services.

Before Color Correction

Above: This is the image before any color correction was performed.

After ROC Color Correction

Above: This is the image after ROC color correction only.

After ROC Color Correction & Automated Level, Contrast, & Color Adjustment

Above: This is the image after ROC color correction and automated level, contrast, and color
adjustment. This image is very similar to the example with only ROC color correction. The use
of our automated level, contrast, and color adjustment does add slightly to the tone of the
image. The wood on the boats in the center of the image is a noticeable area where the
color is slightly improved when compared to ROC alone.
