Silver
Scanning Tour: Page 4
Silver slide and negative scanning
includes automated adjustment of image levels, color, and
contrast. This process helps to bring out the color and
optimize the exposure of your scanned slides and negatives.
The process is described in more detail below. This page
concludes the Silver scanning tour.
Levels, Contrast, & Color Adjustment
Explained:
Our Silver film scanning service includes
the automated adjustment of your images levels, contrast
& brightness, and color. Although this process is somewhat
automated we do monitor these adjustments on a per image
basis. If the results are not desirable or if contrast and
color adjustment look good but the automated level adjustment
gives poor results then the process will be altered accordingly
for each image.
Silver scanning also includes Digital
ROC color correction. The levels, contrast, and color adjustment
described here work well for most images. Images with a
distinct color cast benefit from these adjustments as well
as from Digital ROC color correction. The images below show
typical results of level, contrast, and color adjustment.

As you can see these adjustments
do improve the appearance of your scanned images.

How will my
disks be organized?
That's up to you. We can organize your disks however you
see fit. If you wish to organize your slides and negatives
into groups that correspond to year, or event, or anything
else, we'll be sure to organize your disks accordingly.
Typically people with large orders have their disks organized
into groups. Each group will have it's own folder on your
completed disks. To learn more about how
our disks are organized click here. You might also want
